In a near perfect postseason, Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors have defeated LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games. The playoffs for the Warriors began against the Portland Trailblazers, followed by the Utah Blazers in the second round, and finally against the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. In every series, the Warriors went undefeated, only to lose one game to the Cavaliers in game 4 of the NBA Finals. However, they already had a three to one lead against the East Coast champions, and all they needed was a game 5 win at home. From the jump, the decisive game would go back and forth, but it would ultimately end with the Warriors on top, 129 to 120. Thus solidifying, the franchise’s fifth championship and redemption from last year’s 2016 finals. Understanding the sense of urgency, Iguodala, the 2015 NBA finals MVP, came off the bench and tallied 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. It was accompanied with a stellar performance from Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, who notched 39 and 34 points respectively.
Thank you for the exciting season and congratulations to Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors for bringing back the Larry O’Brien trophy to Oakland!
