The RESSENCE Type 1 Is Modern Timekeeping At Its Finest

The Type 1 was an immediate hit with collectors and critics upon its launch in 2010. It’s innovative display, called the Ressence Orbital Convex System, utilizes a series of nested discs and orbital gears so that the entire tile shifts to show the passage of time. There are no traditional hands to speak of. The design of the Type 1 perfectly complements the amazing mechanism inside.

The rounded 42mm titanium case wears smaller than you'd expect due to the comfortable wire lugs, an effect furthered by the lack of a crown (you set the watch by rotating the entire caseback). This version has a convex German silver dial with a sleek brushed silver finish and a mix of black and luminous markers. And, despite the simplicity of the design, the Ressence Type 1 shows the time as well as the day of the week.
