After the countless rumours and leaked imagery, Samsung has finally unveiled their newest flagship smartphones, the S8 and the S8+. Both will feature what the brand calls an “Infinity Display” which essentially means that their vivid HD display stretches from end-to-end. This translates to an enhanced viewing experience when it comes to photographs, videos, games, and more. The massive displays protected by Gorilla glass and it has been sealed to keep foreign elements out.
When it comes to hardware, the S8 and S8+ are touted as the fastest android phones on the market. This is made possible thanks to the 10nm chip that speeds up the Octa Core processor, while providing better battery life. There’s also 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, as well as a expandable memory card slot that allows for up to 256GB of additional space.
Where Samsung is taking the big leap is with their new virtual assistant named Bixby. They are committed to facilitating the mundane actions that we do on a daily basis, such as setting alarms, reminders, appointments, even simple photo editing. The most interesting feature is Bixby’s photo search, which allows you to take a pictures of objects like furniture or clothing you spotted and want to buy, find restaurants around landmarks, and translate text. Bixby would then make recommendations based on your request!
